My approach:

With a background in Psychodynamic psychotherapy and Relational psychotherapy, I offer versatile and flexible approaches. In addition to these modalities, I integrate Attachment Based Psychotherapy, Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness into my practice as needed, providing a comprehensive framework for my clients.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an insight-oriented therapy that aims to help individuals become aware of how unconscious feelings influence their behavior. By gaining this awareness, they can consciously make changes in their lives. As we mature from a young age, we develop defense mechanisms to protect ourselves in the world. Yet, these defense mechanisms can frequently impede us from attaining the kind of life we imagine and aspire to have. What may have been adaptive as a child can become maladaptive as an adult.
Research consistently emphasizes the pivotal role of the therapeutic relationship in achieving positive outcomes in psychotherapy. Relational therapy centers on the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client to address psychological and behavioral issues. Practitioners of relational therapy consider relationships as fundamental to psychological well-being and leverage the therapeutic relationship to facilitate awareness, growth, and positive change. What should i expect from my first session?

In our first session, we'll focus on establishing goals, discussing the reasons for your therapy, and addressing any questions you may have. Psychotherapy is a highly collaborative process that thrives on active engagement, honesty, and openness from both therapist and client. My goal is to cultivate a safe environment where you can explore and overcome the obstacles you are facing. Building a strong relationship and rapport is crucial throughout our sessions. Your safety, comfort, and trust are my top priorities, and I want to ensure you feel secure in our relationship to confide in me openly.

What is your fee and do you offer sliding scale rates?

My fee is $225 per 50-minute session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments. The fee will be determined prior to our first meeting and is part of an ongoing conversation tailored to each individual. I understand that finances can be a possible deterrent in seeking therapy, so I aim to keep the communication about fees open and ongoing.

Do you accept Insurance?

Although I do not bill insurance directly, if requested I will provide you with a monthly statement that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. I'm here to assist you in navigating the intricacies of using an out-of-network provider.

Do you offer in person and telehealth sessions?

Yes, I am currently working both in person and online.

Are you available for a consultation ?

Yes, I provide a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation to address any of your questions and provide an understanding of my approach.

What is your cancelLation policy?

I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. I kindly request that you cancel at least 48 hours in advance. I offer one free late cancellation, but otherwise, I will need to charge for the session.
